St Hilda’s East Community Centre

Consultation and Outreach Internship

We are recruiting for an energetic and enthusiastic person to be part of our Consultation and Outreach Worker Intern funding application to the Rank Foundation.

This is a full time (35 hrs a week) paid internship (at London Living Wage level of £9.75 per hour). The successful candidate must be available from January 2018 for a period of 12 months.

Part of the Rank Foundation ‘Time to Shine’ internship programme, this is a great chance for a person with skills, talents and ambition to gain valuable work experience, kick starting a career in the community sector.

The role involves carrying out consultation with existing and potential users of our community centre, in particular our Under 5s’ Family Learning project, a youth group working with boys and young men, and Surjamuki group for young people with disabilities – identifying what is working well and what might need improvement. The Consultation and Outreach Intern will also conduct consultation with the wider community by engaging with potential users at local schools, Children’s Centres, faith groups and community events – promoting our projects, encouraging involvement and recruiting new members.

The Consultation and Outreach Worker Intern will receive support from an established Development and Fundraising Officer at St Hilda’s East Community Centre in carrying out this role.

St Hilda’s has submitted a grant application to the Rank Foundation and we are very hopeful of being shortlisted. We think we have a strong chance of being successful, having been funded by the Foundation for internships in the past. We now wish to identify the person who will be our “Time to shine” intern candidate this year.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to an interview with St Hilda’s. The chosen candidate will then be required to attend a second interview (accompanied by a St Hilda’s staff member) during November with the project funder to secure the position. Information about the programme can be found at: http://www.rankfoundation.com/what-we-do/community-care/time-to-shine/

Please encourage anyone that you feel might be suitable to apply for this position!

Applicants should send a CV and a covering letter explaining why they are interested in the role, covering the points on the Task and Role Description, by email to mail@sthildas.org.uk  as soon as possible, preferably by Wednesday 8th November, and no later than 10.00am on Monday 13th November.
