LinkAge Plus Coordinator

21.6 hours per week part time

Ref: LA/CO

Salary: SCP. 31: £33,799 per annum pro rata for 21.6 hours part time.

LinkAge Plus is an innovative project for people aged over 50 living in the Borough of Tower Hamlets. LinkAge Plus works with people to improve their wellbeing, including access to services, social networks and opportunities.

We are looking for someone to coordinate a small LinkAge Plus team of staff in the delivering activities and support in the southwest of Tower Hamlets. Our aim is to encourage a holistic response to the needs of older adults by working with other agencies as well as providing our own services.

LinkAge Plus is jointly funded by Tower Hamlets Council and CCG. St Hilda’s LinkAge Plus team works together as part of borough wide partnership with other voluntary groups led by Toynbee Hall. The successful candidate will lead our team, with responsibility for supervision, monitoring and service development – as well as having a ‘hands on’ approach!

Essential requirements include experience of coordinating services, a good knowledge of issues facing older people, including within BME communities, and a working knowledge of local authority services and other voluntary and statutory agencies. Enthusiasm and sense of humour are also part of the job!

St Hilda’s is a friendly multipurpose community organisation based in Shoreditch working with all age groups. Our LinkAge Plus service is run from a second site, Sonali Gardens, in the Shadwell part of the borough. There will be considerable potential in this role for working in cooperation with other projects and services.
