Salary: Hourly Rate: £14.46 (NJC Pt. 30) for an initial 6 month period subject to further funding.               

St Hilda’s East Community Centre is seeking a suitably experienced Youth Leader to join our vibrant and exciting team. St Hilda’s East is a multi-purpose community organisation based in Tower Hamlets, that provides a wide range of services to the community – from children, youth activities, a Food co-op, to care for older people. We help local people of all ages to combat the challenges arising from deprivation and social exclusion.

St Hilda’s East has been working in our community since 1889. We are currently celebrating our 130th anniversary. Our organisation has seen a lot of changes and challenges in its history and we are looking ahead to new challenges that we and our community face and how we can overcome them.

Youth Leader

Following a successful funding application to Derwent London Community Fund, we are now looking for a Youth Leader who can take responsibility for leading a new initiative for Boys aged 9-13 years of age for an initial period of six months.

The role will require you to plan and deliver a programme of activities including sports, trips and volunteering opportunities co-produced with young people, as well as hold two open engagement events The project aims to provide a safe space outside of school/home where boys can be active and learn skills, enjoy themselves while growing as good citizens and is the foundation for a longer term children and young people strategy.

You will be creative, enthusiastic with a positive outlook and possess excellent project management skills and a demonstrable track-record of planning and implementing successful projects for children and young people.

This role will suit someone who is looking for a new challenge, is motivated by community development and working in a collaborative and supportive environment. You’ll be working in a small, friendly and dynamic team that are keen to learn from your knowledge and expertise.
