St Hilda’s East is a friendly multi-purpose community centre in the East End of London – working with all age groups from children to older people.  A vacancy has now arisen for the following post, playing a key role in recruiting volunteers for the organisation’s services.

Volunteer Co-ordinator                Part time 21.6 hours per week (over 3 days)               Ref: VC

Salary: SCP. 33 £29,909 per annum pro rata for 21.6 hours weekly.

We are looking for someone who shares our belief in the importance of volunteering, to play a pivotal role in our team. As Volunteer Coordinator, you will develop, deliver and support the organisation by recruiting and placing volunteers (including corporate volunteers) in our services and projects as well as handling the administration and organisational activities related to placing volunteers. Our services include a busy older people’s service, an exciting food co-op project and our youth services.

Essential requirements include: at least 1 year’s experience of working and supporting volunteers; experience of supervising volunteers; knowledge of good practice in volunteering; some experience of organising / delivering training for volunteers and publicity skills.
