Free stay & play in east London for under 5s meets every Tuesday, Thursday & Friday 10am-12 noon.

Our free Stay and Play in east London is a free drop in play session for children under 5 years of age accompanied by their parents or carer.

No booking required.

St Hilda’s East under 5’s free Stay and Play in east London offers our families an environment in which children and parents can relax and play together.

In our local community safe outdoor space is limited or not available, family homes may be temporary, cramped or feel unsafe, and toys and books unavailable which can make raising a family more challenging.​

We know how important exploration and play are for our young children’s development. Our playgroup in east London offers our families safe and welcoming indoor and outdoor spaces full of activities, toys and books for children and their parent and carers to enjoy and will support children’s development.​

At our free Stay and Play in east London, children can experience a range of play experiences:​

  • sharing stories in our reading area​
  • enjoying space for physical play​
  • exploring the smells of sensory plants in our garden​
  • relaxing in our purpose built sensory room​
  • exploring new textures in messy play and lots more!​

Our fabulous friendly childrens’ team of experienced, bi-lingual (Bengali) staff and volunteers offer our families their support and expertise in childcare, offering support with many of the challenges of navigating parenthood such as infant feeding, language development, and mental health support.
