Sports for Young People

St Hilda’s offers Sports for Young People to help children and young people stay active, develop new skills, and build confidence through free, friendly sessions. Our programme creates a positive environment where participants can learn, play, and connect with others through sport.

Our Tuesday Girls Only Football Sessions are open to girls aged 10 and over, providing a supportive space to develop football skills, teamwork, and self-belief. Led by experienced coaches, sessions combine games, skill-building activities, and friendly matches that encourage confidence and enjoyment.

Also on Tuesdays from 5–7pm, we run Badminton Sessions for children aged 10 and over. Coached by Christine and Rahul, the sessions are energetic and inclusive, with a Sports Leader chosen each term to motivate others.

Both groups end with light snacks and time to socialise, offering the chance to celebrate achievements and make new friends.

Over 10s Badminton

Every Tuesday 5pm-7pm

Our free Badminton sessions at St Hilda’s take place every Tuesday from 5–7pm for children aged 10 and over. Led by Coach Christine and Coach Rahul, the sessions are full of energy, encouragement, and teamwork.

The group provides a fun, supportive environment where children can build confidence, develop new skills, and enjoy being active together. Each term, a Sports Leader is chosen from among the participants to help motivate others and promote teamwork.

Alongside skill-building and friendly games, children learn about cooperation, respect, and perseverance. Light snacks are provided after each session, giving everyone a chance to socialise and celebrate their achievements.

The children say they love taking part, with many sharing that they’ve improved their game, feel more confident, and enjoy being part of a team. The sessions offer both physical activity and a sense of belonging that supports their overall wellbeing.

Over 10s Girls Football

Every Tuesday

Our Tuesday Girls Only Football Sessions at St Hilda’s are open to children aged 10 and over. These weekly sessions provide a fun, supportive space for girls to get active, build confidence, and develop football skills in a friendly, all-girls environment.

Led by our experienced coaches, sessions focus on teamwork, fitness, and enjoyment. Each week includes games, skill-building drills, and friendly matches designed to help participants grow in ability and self-belief while having fun.

The group also offers the chance to make new friends and enjoy a sense of belonging through sport. After the session, light snacks are provided for everyone to relax and socialise together.

Our aim is to encourage more girls to get involved in football, stay active, and feel confident both on and off the pitch.
